SANDANCE!

SanDance! is an independent 60” documentary covering the age-old dance culture of Africa’s San Peoples. Filmed in Namibia and Botswana, SanDance! immerses viewers in the trance healing dance at the heart of San culture and follows dancers from remote Kalahari villages to electrifying performances at the annual Kuru Dance Festival in Botswana.

SanDance! will stream free on the Global Arts Live TwitchFacebook, and YouTube channels followed by a prerecorded Q&A with filmmaker Richard Wicksteed (recorded on Feb 06, 2022).

This livestream is free so that people hit hardest by Covid-19 can participate. If you are able to donate, please do so generously. All donations received during the livestream will be shared between Global Arts Live and the San dance groups and the San NGO Kuru Development Trust, who have been hard-hit by the shutdown of the tourism sector during the pandemic.

A special thanks to Abudi Consulting Group for supporting Global Arts Live livestreams.
