Educational and Community programs

We feel a strong sense of responsibility to serve the public by providing people of all ages opportunities to interact, participate, and connect with music and dance.

Since 1990, Global Arts Live has offered a wide range of educational and community engagement programs that have been designed to deepen the impact of our annual concert series and to provide exciting life-long learning opportunities.

Community Engagement Programs

Fostering a diverse community that celebrates cultural discovery and participation through the arts is at the core of Global Arts Live’s mission. Our community engagement programs

  • Promote global cultural awareness and respect at a local level through offering inclusive and accessible programming
  • Encourage diverse audiences of all ages and backgrounds to come together as a unified community
  • Deepen the audience’s experience of the creative process and art forms
  • Provide opportunities for professional development within the local arts community

Each season, preconcert lectures and postconcert discussions are hosted by local experts in the field to enhance the audiences’ experience of the performance. Visiting artists offer masterclasses, lecture demonstrations, and discussions that provide opportunities for participation and learning in intimate settings. Multiple forms of virtual technology connect local audiences to the creative process.

Global Arts Live partners with a number of community organizations including the Dance Complex, Green Street Studios, LearnQuest Academy of Music, Belmont World Film, Boston Center for Adult Education, and local immigrant community organizations that reflect the cultural heritage of the artists we present.

Global Arts Live works closely with greater Boston’s peer arts organizations to provide creative leadership to address challenges facing the arts sector today.
