Mike Block is an American cellist, singer, and Grammy-winning musician with the Silkroad Ensemble. Yacouba Sissoko, master of the kora, hails from Mali. Together, the two musicians meld West African and American traditions though an intimate collaboration that features original compositions and adaptations of traditional folk repertoire.
