FLY HIGHER: CHARLIE PARKER @ 100

Fly Higher honors Charlie Parker’s centennial year by showcasing Bird’s uncompromising musical joy, humor, and beauty by mining his deep repertoire and showcasing new, modern compositions. Acclaimed co–musical directors Rudresh Mahanthappa (alto saxophone) and Terri LyneCarrington (drums) are joined by Charenée Wade (vocals), Adam O’Farrill (trumpet), Kris Davis (piano), Larry Grenadier (bass), and Kassa Overall (dj) to celebrate one of the most innovative and influential artists in modern musical history and examine his impact on pop, hip-hop, rap, rock, and jazz.

This concert is officially sanctioned by the Estate of Charlie Parker.

Regrettably, Global Arts Live is unable to present this Fly Higher performance. Berklee College of Music has announced that the Berklee Performance Center will be closed to outside renters through Fall 2020.
