Founders of the Grammy-nominated Innov Gnawa unite with leading figures from NYC's jazz and contemporary music scenes to reimagine Gnawa music, often referred to as “Sufi blues.” Rooted in the rhythms and spiritual beliefs foraged between Islam and the indigenous cultures of Morrocco and West Africa, Saha Gnawa invokes trancelike states through intuitive interplay, allowing ancestral rhythms and melodies into unknown territories—where traditional song forms dissolve into ecstatic dance tracks that heal the mind, body, and soul.
