FlamenKora brings together improvisational trumpet, flamenco guitar, and the traditional kora and vocals of Senegal in a richly textured musical dialogue. Led by trumpeter Volker Goetze and featuring Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko, a master of Mande music, alongside flamenco guitarist Roberto Monteiro, the trio skillfully and sensitively blends West African Mande traditions, Spanish influences, and jazz compositions. The result is an evocative, timeless sound that traces and celebrates the ancient cultural pathways connecting continents.
