Nigeria’s Femi Kuti is the heart and soul of modern Afrobeat. Like his legendary father, Fela Aníkúlápó Kuti, Femi has stood as a powerful voice for justice known for his unflinching critiques of political corruption and social inequality. After years with his father's band Egypt '80, he created Positive Force and has been forging his own style of Afrobeat ever since—a heady mix of funk, jazzy horns, traditional Yoruba rhythms, and highlife. Madame Gandhi will open.
