In Mayrig ("mother" in Armenian), cellist Karen Ouzounian and Lembit Beecher draw on Armenian musical traditions, stories from post-genocide Lebanon, and the cherished songs of Charles Aznavour to create a deeply personal exploration of memory, identity, and cultural inheritance. Through cello, piano, electronics, and the voices of Ouzounian's mother and grandmother, the work pulses with passion and celebration, resilience and rage, honoring the enduring strength of family and heritage.
