From winning the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition to leading his celebrated group, the Blacktet, Hill blends jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and soul into a sound that is both rooted in tradition and fearlessly contemporary. His music reflects the vast universe of African-American creative heritage—“different branches of the same tree.”
