Meet Erin, Box Office Manager!

Ever wonder who answers the phone at World Music 90% of the time?? Me!

My first intro into World Music/CRASHarts was while I was a student at Berklee College of Music. I worked at the box office for many WM/CA events throughout my time at the college, my first being Paco Peña back in October 2009. I was always very impressed with the diversity of the acts brought to the venue, as well as the dedication and excitement of the World Music/CRASHarts audience. So I couldn’t be happier to be a part of the team! Some of my favorite shows I’ve worked over the years have been TAO: The Drummers of Japan, Hugh Masekela, Joshua Redman, and Idan Raichel with India.Arie.

Buika wants YOU!

The fabulous Buika performs this Saturday at the Berklee Performance Center at 8pm and she wants YOU to come to the concert. You can get tickets to the concert one of two ways: 1. Go here and buy tickets. 2. Comment on this blog post with your name and email address and let me know why you should win tickets. I will pick a winner at 10am on Friday, April 11.

If you weren't already aware, Buika is winner of several LAtin Grammy awards who has been named one of the 50 best vocalists of all time by NPR (and we know that NPR knows their stuff). She blends flamenco, jazz, soul and blues in a way that no other sing can replicate. She's truly a one-of-a-king performer. Do yourself a favor, and check her out.

Flamenco Festival 2014 After Party!

As a small thank you to our Supporter-level members ($100+) we held a Stars of Flamenco Member’s After Party at Tapeo Restaurant and Tapas Bar on Newbury Street. The party kicked off the first night of Stars of Flamenco, this years’ World Music/CRASHarts Flamenco Festival (followed up be an incredible performace by Tomatito on March 16).

The event was held in the downstairs of Tapeo (a Spanish tapas bar).  The brightly hued ceramics, paintings of flamenco dancers, and Spanish spices highlighted the night’s theme and experience, providing a great backdrop for this fun Saturday night. Our guests were welcomed with delicious house sangria and a variety of Spanish tapas were served in the customary shared setting.
